Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia's Music Symposia

During the Spring 2008 and Spring 2009 semesters, the Mu Gamma chapter of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia hosted the 1st and 2nd Annual ASU Music Symposia. The 1st Music Symposium brought American composers/arrangers Mark Rogers, Donald Grantham, and William Funk together for two nights of discussing their perspectives in composition, while the 2nd Music Symposium brought music educators Jacqueline Henninger, Harris Brinson, Cindy Bulloch, and Dennis Hopkins for two nights of discussing topics and controversial issues in music education. As a result of the 1st ASU Music Symposium, the brothers of Phi Mu Alpha received a prestigous award from their local province: the Citation for Special Projects. The brotherhood hopes to continue this beneficial event in future years in hopes of building a strong network base and enhancing the musical experience at Angelo State University, long after the brothers that created it have moved on.
